fielddrive joins World Rugby and Wiz-Team at BizBash’s Sports Innovation Forum

How do we keep sports tournaments safe and secure? That was the question fielddrive explored alongside Wiz-Team and World Rugby at the BizBash Sports Innovation Forum in The Woodlands, near Houston, Texas.

Our CEO, Abhishek Jain, joined Johann Woringer from Wiz-Team and Mark Huddleston from World Rugby, with Taylor Snow hosting the session. The conversation focused on how accreditation, identity checks and biometric validation can help secure major sporting events.

The audience included organisers from FIFA, the NFL, the NBA, the Olympics, the USOPC and the PGA, among others. Being in the same room as people responsible for some of the world’s largest sporting events made this a particularly valuable conversation. Their experience and questions brought different perspectives to a shared challenge.

For tournament organisers, security involves confirming who someone is, which credential they should receive and where they are permitted to go. Those checks need to work alongside a smooth arrival experience, with careful handling of personal information.

Accreditation, identity verification and access control each have a role to play. Connecting them helps teams build a more consistent process, from issuing a badge to checking access at an event zone.
